How To Register?
Please confirm you live or attend school in boundaries for Santa Anita Little League: League Boundaries.

Click Register Now and select the appropriate division by age.

During the online registration, please DO NOT UPLOAD ANY DOCUMENTS. You will be required to attend one of the in-person registration events to turn in below forms.

   1. (New players only) Copy of birth certificate or passport.  (If you have only played FALL BALL - your child is considered a new player)
   2. Medical Release Form

   3.
Parent Code of Conduct
   4.

   5.
Concussion Fact/Form
   6.
School Enrollment Wavier (preferredOR 3 items listed below proving residency. Residency documents are needed every year. If possible, please print  and bring copies in advance that we can keep; we will have a copier on-site, but using it will slow down the process. The School Enrollment Waiver Form must be for a school within SALL boundaries and signed by the school office/administration/principal. If you choose to verify residency instead, please choose one item from each category below. Only one document will be accepted from each category; for example, we cannot accept three utility bills.

When are sign ups?
Sign ups for Spring baseball are usually between October and December. For our draft programs, Majors, Minors and Prep, when registration closes in December we cannot accept more players.

For Machine pitch and Tee Ball we will accept players until all our teams are full, occasionally we may have additional room after sign ups close.  If we are full and you still want to sign up, volunteer to manage a team and we may be able to create more slots for your player.

Signups for Fall Baseball are usually July through September.

How much does it cost?
See the "Registration" tab. Fees for each division are listed there.

I am late, can I still sign up?
If teams have already been formed and tryouts are complete we typically cannot take any new players. Sign up for the wait list, if there is a cancellation that creates an opening, we may be able to accept a new player late. Email us and ask if registration is closed. We will do our best to find an opening at SALL or point us toward another local program that still has openings for new players.

What areas Does SALL Cover?
See the "League Boundaries" page under the "Registration" tab.

Do I live within SALL League Boundaries?  Is my school inside SALL Boundaries?

See the "League Boundaries" page under the "About Us" tab.

We live outside of SALL Boundaries, can we still play for SALL?
Players may only sign up for SALL if they reside or attend school within league boundaries, or you live in an area NOT serviced by another little league. Any players not living within SALL boundaries must obtain a Little League Residency Waiver form.

We attend a school inside of SALL Boundaries, can we play for SALL?
Yes but the player must provide a Little league school enrollment form signed by a school administrator.

What division should I sign up for?
See the Divisions Player Age FAQ's below. Also see the baseball age chart below. If you are uncertain feel free to contact our player agent to help understand where your player is best suited to play. If you have a younger player and are still not sure we can arrange a short skills assessment to help give you guidance on the best spot for your player.

When will I know what team my player is on?
You will be contacted by your team manager in early February. If you have not heard from your team manager two weeks before opening ceremonies, please contact us.

When do practices start?

Typically early to mid February.

When do games start?
Games start the same day as opening ceremonies, see the League calendar for opening ceremonies date and time, usually last Saturday of February. Tee Ball and Machine pitch games typically start one week after opening ceremonies.

What equipment do I need to buy?  What does the league supply?
League supplies your player a team jersey and a hat. You will provide everything else, including a baseball glove, bat, cleats, belt, cup, baseball pants, socks, and sliders.

How do I pay?
1. Pay by credit card on the website.
2. Bring a check to one of our in person sign up events.  We do not accept cash payments.
3. Email us and we can discuss other options if 1 and 2 don't work.

When do I have to pay?
Please pay when you register. All payments must be received by the time you attend the in-person registration in order to be assigned to a team. If you are in need of financial assistance, please contact us.

Tryouts, Draft & Player Placement Into Divisions:

All new and returning parents must attend an in-person sign up event to provide proof of residency and age documents to the league. This is a Little League Baseball requirement. Dates and locations for upcoming in person sign up events will be posted on the calendar tab of our website. League events are also posted on our Facebook Page.

Do I need to upload proof of residency/age documents to the website? No, you do not.
All documents must be presented in person. If you uploaded documents, you still need to bring all documents to the in-person registration. Sorry, we have tried to remove this section from the online registration, but we use an outside vendor, and we have not been able to remove this section.

How do I get news about sign ups and other League Events?
A notifications email about league events are sent to all users registered on our website. Create an account on our website and like our Facebook page so you are sure to get all the latest news.

Why are players required to attend Try-outs?
Prep, Minors and Majors are all draft programs. Players will attend tryouts and will placed in the appropriate division based on skill level. The draft helps us provide evenly matched teams and player safety and keeps kids of similar skill levels playing together.

Why are Prep Minors and Majors teams formed by a draft?
The League runs the Majors, Minors and Prep team selection process as a draft in order to provide evenly matched, competitive teams and to keep kids of similar skill levels playing together. It’s not a perfect process, and there are always a few kids unhappy not being drafted up to a higher division, but it’s the best process we have for ensuring balanced teams and player safety.

Why can't I pick my coach and teammates in prep, minors and majors?
Majors, Minors and Prep teams are formed by a draft. We usually have five teams at each division, so there is a 1 in 5 chance you wind up on any given team. Want specific kids on your team? Volunteer to manage a team you can draft your own team.

What Proof of residency/Age documents are acceptable?

All players (new and returning) must bring THREE different approved proof of residency documents to one of our in person sign up events  (examples of approved documents are vehicle registration, driver's License, utility bill, bank statement, credit card bill, passport). Note that only ONE utility bill may be used as proof, the remaining two documents must be from another of the approved type. Copies or originals are acceptable. SALL will keep the documents provided on file.  Documents provided will not be returned. (These documents are required to be on file by the league for tournament play later in the season). League boundaries and a listing of acceptable proof of residency documents are listed on the sign up page on our website. All new players must bring a birth certificate for proof of age.

Are Special Requests accepted?
We will do our best to accommodate division requests, coach requests and player pairings; however, please understand it is not always possible to accommodate all requests. We are not able to accommodate any requests for our draft programs.

I signed up online, do I still have to come to a sign up event?
Yes! The league is required to verify proof of residency for each new season. We can only do this at a sign up event.

Do I need to bring a birth certificate?
First time players to SALL need to bring a birth certificate for proof of age. Returning players do not need to provide a birth certificate.

I provided all this information last year, why do I have to do this again?
Sorry, Little League rules. Required for every season. People move, information changes etc. Sadly, leagues have cheated by getting players from out of boundaries to win tournaments, including the Little League Worlds Series.

Does my player have attend signups or can just a parent come?
A Parent/Adult required. The player is not required to attend.

Try-outs? Does my player have to attend?  When are they?
Prep, Minors and Majors are all draft programs. Players who wish to play prep or above must attend tryouts. Players will be drafted into the appropriate division based on skill level. The draft helps us provide evenly matched teams and player safety. Younger players not drafted to prep, minors or majors will be placed into machine pitch. See league events calendar for try out dates, typically in the first week of January.

My child is only available certain days of the week due to other activities, can the League make sure he/she is on a team that aligns perfectly with my child's other extracurricular activities?
No.

Can we pick our practice day?
Volunteer to manage a team and you may have some influence on the team's practice schedule. Otherwise, your team's practice day will be the day the team manager has selected. We cannot adjust practice and game schedules to work around individual players' extracurricular activities. We have 300+ players , 20+ teams, 4 fields, and only 5 days a week to conduct games and practices.

My player will play tee-ball. Do we need to attend tryouts?
No. Tee Ball players do not need to attend tryouts

My player will play machine pitch. Do we need to attend tryouts?
Maybe. If your player is somewhere between machine pitch and prep, come to tryouts. It’s fun and it will help us determine if your player is best suited for machine pitch or prep. If you are certain you will be playing machine pitch, no need to attend tryouts.

What is my Players Baseball/League Age?
See the "Age Chart" links on the bottom of this website.

Do SALL Board Members' kids get special treatment?
Absolutely Not!  See below how draft and all star teams are formed. All players are treated equally regardless of their parent's level of involvement. Don't believe it? Become a volunteer, join the board and see how it all works. See areas the league could do better? Do you have ideas on on how to improve the league - please volunteer to join the board. We would love to have your help.
