Santa Anita Little League

About Us

Santa Anita Little League was founded in 1956, providing an anchor for the community as a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide a safe, instructional and fun baseball environment for boys and girls of Arcadia, Monrovia and Duarte (ages 4 and up). We are chartered under the umbrella of Little League International, Inc., and part of the Little League Western District 17. Our non-profit organization operates as an all-volunteer program and therefore relies on the support of our network of families, local businesses, corporate, and community sponsors.

SALL Mission Statement

Mission Statement
Santa Anita Little League (SALL) is dedicated to supporting the development of life skills and personal character in the youth of our community through the enjoyment of the sport of baseball.

Core Objectives
To provide a healthy athletic environment in which our players can develop an appreciation for physical conditioning, healthy life choices and the skills to compete in baseball.

To provide an organized team environment in which our players can learn an appreciation for self-discipline, responsibility, accountability and teamwork.

To provide a positive nurturing and safe environment in which our players can learn an appreciation for sportsmanship, self-esteem, pride and integrity.

To improve the overall experience for players, parents, and coaches so as to create a culture that not only attracts player and volunteer participation, but keeps them coming back year after year.

Core Values
SALL is charged with providing every day examples of the values upon which Little League was built: Character, Courage, and Loyalty.

President's Message

Hello SANTA ANITA Families!

I just want to say how very proud I am to be the president of this amazing league.

Our past leadership figured out how we could play during one of the most difficult times in the history of the world. That determination allowed us to come back stronger and with bigger numbers than ever. Santa Anita Little League is proud to serve 540 players that make up our baseball, Challenger, and softball programs! Because of the combined efforts of our board, countless volunteers and you, the parents, we are thriving and excited to offer a fun environment where kids can learn, compete, and most importantly have fun.

I remember coming to this league when my son was only 4 years old, showing up to practices and games, not really knowing anyone at SALL. It was intimidating, but one of the most exciting times of our life. Watching our son Julio become a T-Ball Cubby and get better every year has only been a small part of why Santa Anita Little League is so special to us. The friends we have made here have become our family and we couldn’t ask for a better community to share our days with.

Finally, perhaps you would like a bit of advice from an old pro:

Parents, take this all in…play catch with your kids, take them to the field, do everything you can so that you never have any regrets that you were not a part of this very special time in your child’s life. Get involved and volunteer; there is so much to do and I promise it will make your time here even better! I know it sounds cliché, but it goes by fast. In the blink of an eye, our son had played at every Little League field and now we are in the homestretch of being done with little league baseball. I wish there was a rewind button. Not because I regret anything, but because I wish we could do it all over again.

I wish you and your family the most amazing 2023 baseball season. Looking forward to seeing you all on the field!
