Santa Anita Little League

About Us

Santa Anita Little League was founded in 1956, providing an anchor for the community as a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide a safe, instructional and fun baseball environment for boys and girls of Arcadia, Monrovia and Duarte (ages 4 and up). We are chartered under the umbrella of Little League International, Inc., and part of the Little League Western District 17. Our non-profit organization operates as an all-volunteer program and therefore relies on the support of our network of families, local businesses, corporate, and community sponsors.

President's Message

Hello SALL Families!

I want to welcome you all to our 2026 Spring Season. As we look ahead to our kids getting back on to our fields, seeing their friends, and having fun I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for the incredible support we have in this community. We are very excited to get our season underway and we’re looking forward to seeing you come and support your players! Our Opening Day and the official start of games for the 2026 Spring Season is on February 21st.

I'd also like to take a moment to thank our volunteers. As the President of SALL, I am amazed at the dedication and selfless support our parents and families provide our league. We have had record breaking registration numbers these past few years and 2026 looks to be the biggest season yet. To support over 550 players, more than 140 coaches, more than 45 teams, and more than a thousand parents and fans, it takes a lot of work. We are an all-volunteer league. We put our time into this because we love it, our kids love it, and it makes a difference in our community.

Our volunteers are the reason everyone wants to play at SALL. It's part of our culture. It takes work to run a snack-shack (or two!). It takes work to ensure our players are fully uniformed before Opening Day. It takes workdays and volunteers to get our fields conditioned and ready for the season. It takes extra effort to run programs to train student umpires, coordinate scorekeepers, announcers, and umpires. It takes work to ensure we have enough equipment for each season. Game schedules, practice schedules, coach coordination and training, clinics and workshops all require an investment of time but it's worth it because at the end of the day, we get to experience and share the joy with our kids on the field. It's a moment in our lives we will remember forever and so will our players.

If you have any questions or want to volunteer, please email us at [email protected].

Safety Policy

SALL Heat Safety Policy

Purpose

Santa Anita Little League is committed to protecting the health and safety of all players, coaches, volunteers, and spectators. Extreme heat can pose serious health risks, including heat exhaustion and heat stroke. While Little League does provide heat guidelines as part of their Safety Plan, Santa Anita Little League has opted to create this policy which enforces stricter guidelines at lower heat thresholds. This policy establishes clear guidelines for cancelling or modifying games and practices during periods of excessive heat.

Policy
1.    Temperature Threshold
•    All practices and games will be cancelled when the temperature reaches 98°F or higher according to AccuWeather for Arcadia, California.
•    The League will use AccuWeather’s reported real-time temperature at the scheduled start time of the event to make determinations.
2.    Heat Monitoring
•    The League Safety Officer or a designated Board Member will monitor AccuWeather throughout the day.
•    Decisions will be communicated to managers, coaches, and families no later than two hours before the scheduled start time.
3.    Hydration & Safety Guidelines (for temperatures between 95°F - 98°F)
•    Encourage frequent water breaks every 15–20 minutes.
•    Players may not be denied access to water or shade at any time.
•    Coaches should watch for signs of heat-related illness (e.g., dizziness, nausea, excessive fatigue, confusion).
•    Parents are encouraged to provide cooling towels, hats, sunscreen, and plenty of water.
4.    Exceptions & Rescheduling
•    Games and practices cancelled due to excessive heat will be rescheduled at the discretion of the League Scheduler, subject to field availability.
•    If a game may be delayed without impacting a later game, that option can be utilized.
•    No team or player will be penalized for cancellations related to this policy.
5.    Enforcement
•    All managers and coaches are responsible for enforcing this policy at every game and practice.
•    Any violations should be reported to the League President or Safety Officer immediately.

Effective Date
This policy is effective immediately and will remain in force for the duration of the Santa Anita Little League fall season.
